Brittany and Kris | Wedding @ Carriage House, Altamont

We are mid-season and mid back to back weddings and we couldn’t be happier. Not only are we back to back weddings from here till the fall we are also “gasp” caught up on editing (no joke). Our last wedding we returned about 1 week and 2 days after the wedding was shot, we are really hoping we can keep up the momentum into fall, we’ll see.

You may remember Brittany and Kris from their engagement session last year with their incredibly handsome little dog, Leroy. Brittany and Kris had an amazing wedding day and an awesome reception at the Carriage House in Altamont, IL. It was a full morning of hair and makeup at the salon and enjoyable conversation as we got to know Brittany’s bridesmaids (they are a fun bunch let me tell you). We headed to St. Mary’s in Shumway where it was very evident by the fully packed church that these two cool cats are pretty loved by many. We had a great ceremony even though Brittany’s veil and earing fell out mid ceremony (it was a memorable laugh). We were able to get in some large group photos at the church before heading to one of my favorite outdoor locations, Tuscan Hills Winery for some outdoor shots of the bridal party and couple. Even though it was a warm day we were blessed with some clouds and had ample time to get in our shots before heading to the beautiful Carriage House for the reception. Brittany and Chris had a beautifully decorated room and we loved all of the huggies and personal touches they had throughout their reception. Kris’s twin brother (yes, identical twin, that wasn’t confusing all day at all) gave a really great speech and the dance floor was hopping all night. We thankfully were able to sneak away for some evening shots (we almost missed the sun) that we had wanted to get and also had the chance to go get a quick snapshot with the couples adorable dog Leroy. This couple was so genuine and so laid back we had a great day with them. We look forward to sharing the video soon with you of their big day courtesy of Key-Films (Doug and Tim). Congrats Brittany and Kris!

* I have had a few comments/emails about my previous blogs from relatives and friends asking “Where’s the picture of so and so?” Just a note on our blogs in general: I take thousands of pictures at a wedding, if blogged every single photo, I’d never get anything done. Our blog is meant to be a “snap shot” of the couples big day through which photos are pretty randomly selected (and I really mean that, completely random). The goal of our blog is to focus on the couple and the bridal party. We don’t always sneak in family photos, if we do, there is typically a reason or couple request. This doesn’t mean however that we didn’t take or won’t deliver those photos to our clients. Our couples get a LOT of images, and no worries, they include all of the family formals we took at the church.
