Emily and Eric | Wedding @ Effingham, IL

This blog post is coming to you straight from LA, California where Doug and I are currently preparing to shoot another wedding day. We couldn’t wait to share Emily and Eric’s big day because we absolutely LOVED this wedding day, it was such a blast. I have known Emily and her family for a long time and they are just a fun and laid back group. Eric is the nicest guy you’ll ever meet and probably is the best dancer I’ve run across all year (seriously, he’s got some awesome moves). We avoided the rain just in time to get a few outdoor shots at a local barn as well as all our formals which were also done outdoors. I really liked this idea as Emily’s mother, Mary, has a beautiful home surrounded by perfect flowers and it made a nice shady backdrop for the formal wedding portraits. There were SO many unique aspects to this wedding I can’t even begin to describe them. I’ll start with decor: I have never seen the Effingham KC Hall look so beautiful. They had this amazing custom backdrop surrounded by beautiful uplighting and might I add I was completely honored that they used so many of their engagement photos for decoration at the reception. Another unique aspect was the dessert table which featured a LARGE variety of cake and pie. It is so refreshing and different when a couple truly incorporates their personalities into their wedding planning and this wedding was a perfect example of careful planning and thought. Everything ran together seamlessly and Emily and Eric’s bridal party was an absolute blast. We had some fun entrances (see below), some excellent speeches (full of embarrassing stories), and we ended the night with a little Fourth of July smoke bomb fun. From the dress to the rings to the reception this wedding day had a vintage feel and we couldn’t have been more honored to document this special day for two people who are crazy about each other. Eric and Emily (and Zola, their puppy) we wish you many many years of wedded bliss and we hope you have a fantastic honeymoon!

Stay tuned as I believe Key-Films will have a wedding trailer for Mr. and Mrs. Parker in the future 🙂
