Melissa and Brandon | Wedding @ St. Thomas, Newton IL

blog79Holy goodness its been HOT this week. Just last weekend we were chilling it on a rainy day with Melissa and Brandon and although we had humidity for their wedding it was a cool breeze compared to this weekend! We want to share with you the wedding day of such a fun loving couple! We got to know Melissa and Brandon really well through the engagement sessions and the wedding day and they were such a blast to work with. We had a relaxing morning of hair and makeup and thanks to Melissa’s good scheduling we had ample time for formal portraits and even for some photos outside during breaks in the rain. Despite the rain we were able to get in some group shots downtown and then head to the Effingham KC Hall for the reception. A few things I LOVED about the day was that both Melissa and Brandon’s families were very welcoming and pleasant to work with and Melissa had some beautiful details not only with her dress but with her flowers and bridal accessories. Brandon was constantly talking to us and making us feel welcome while we took some groomsman photos outside and we really just enjoyed shooting formal portraits. Of course St. Thomas church is just beautiful inside and because of all of the love in the group there were LOTS of great memories during the ceremony. The reception was a blast and we got another opportunity to do a smoke bomb shot at the request of the couple. Thankfully it wasn’t too wet on the ground to pull off one shot (but we went through a couple of bombs before we could get “the shot”). Congrats to you both we were very honored to work with you and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!
