Rachel and Spencer | Wedding @ St. Paul Blue Point Church, Altamont IL

We got right back into the swing of things post vacation with the wedding of Rachel and Spencer. When I say these two were like the easiest people to work with, I mean it. You can’t get much better than a genuine couple whose focus of the day is each other rather than all of the craziness that surrounds the day. These are the kind of weddings I LOVE because they provide the best opportunity to photograph genuine memories. Some of my favorite vendors were also involved with this wedding. We started hair and makeup at Stylez in Effingham where two of my favorite hair and makeup artists (Katie and Brittany) created the flawless wedding day look. If any of you know me personally you know I have some kind of disconnect between recognizing faces and remembering names, especially on a wedding day. I spent a great deal of the morning trying to put a name to a familiar face in the wedding party and it was none other than Lydia Holste. She is a very talented local area photographer who was assisting the wedding day and let me tell you I was kind of spoiled having her around because photographers KNOW how things go at a wedding and you won’t find a better planner or organizer than a photographer so needless to say the day ran very smoothly. We appreciate that! The church was a new location for Doug and I but it had beautiful stained glass and an intimate setting. Rachel and Spencer had photo locations already planned that were personal and meaningful for them and it was fun to incorporate the tractors in some of the photos and even their puppy! The reception was at the Carriage House in Altamont which is one of my favorite venues. Janet and her team do an amazing job of keeping the event coordinated. We met a new DJ, Sam Sevener of Sevener Sound(out of Springfield) at the event and he did a fantastic job. The floor was packed all night! We were able to sneak away for some more evening shots and that’s always a great time for the couple to just take a breath and a moment and just soak in the day without the guests and bridal party. Between the awesome couple and the awesome vendors this was SUCH a great day. Josh and Doug with Key-Films will have a wedding trailer to share with you in the coming weeks! Enjoy the blog!
