Our last wedding of October was a chilly one but a sunny day nonetheless in the Champaign, IL area at Hudson Farm. This was a beautiful and unique event center complete with ceremony accommodations in a beautifully decorated barn and an on-site reception area. You may remember Cassie and Nick from our previous engagement blog post featuring their St. Louis engagement photos and also that these two are big Cardinal fans which was something we were all able to bond over. There were so many great details involved with this wedding from the décor down to the dress. Cassie was stunning in an elegant lace dress which featured a lace scalloped train and beautiful beading. We started with hair and makeup at the onsite farm house at Hudson Farms and once everyone was dressed in their bridal gear and ready to go Cassie and Nick had a private first look in the ceremony barn. Cassie had some great places chosen for outdoor photos including this beautiful tree that we always love photographing and a sentimental spot: Bentley’s Pub. We enjoyed a morning of bridal party pictures and then headed back to the ceremony site for the wedding. Cassie had chosen some beautiful décor for both the wedding ceremony and reception. We witnessed some really amazing speeches and an awesome flash mob style dance performed flawlessly by the bride and groom. The dance floor was completely packed for the reception and everyone looked like they were having a great time. We were able to get in a night shot in the ceremony barn which was thankfully warmer than the windy conditions outside. All in all it was a beautiful day for a wedding and we wish Cassie and Nick all of the best!
Congrats!

* I have had a few comments/emails about my previous blogs from relatives and friends asking “Where’s the picture of so and so?” Just a note on our blogs in general: I take thousands of pictures at a wedding, if blogged every single photo, I’d never get anything done. Our blog is meant to be a “snap shot” of the couples big day through which photos are pretty randomly selected (and I really mean that, completely random). The goal of our blog is to focus on the couple and the bridal party. We don’t always sneak in family photos, if we do, there is typically a reason or couple request. This doesn’t mean however that we didn’t take or won’t deliver those photos to our clients. Our couples get a LOT of images, and no worries, they include all of the family formals we took!
Christine Gembara-Dyszelski (Mother of the Bride) - Dear Kate & Doug,
Thank you for photographing the Dyszelski/Dean Wedding on Oct 17, 2015. In deed it was the coldest day in Oct., but fortunately you endured the winds, along with the Bride & Groom and the Wedding party, enrapturing the essence of their special day. The variety of photos you took and the choreographing of the wedding party for special poses made for a collage of beautiful photos. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the collection looks like
I especially like the picture of my daughter, Cassie, where you just shot her face. It is my favorite along with many other people who have commented on it… I hope there are a few more similar to this one…. Thank you again for the great photos.
