I had kind of a whirlwind life the last few weeks with lots of travel, a lot of work projects at my day job, and a ton of weekend activities. During our busy weekend we celebrated the wedding of Kate and Nick on a fantastic spring day and had the best time. The last time we met up with Kate and Nick for their engagement session we had some kind of odd weather where it would be sunny one minute and then have spurts of rain the next. This created some dynamic clouds and weather patterns that made their engagement session totally unique. Their wedding day however was full of beautiful sun and clouds and made for the perfect afternoon. We started the morning at one of my favorite salons in the area, Stylez where Brittany created a beautiful bridal hairstyle for Kate that included her magnificent cathedral length veil (more on that in a minute). Kate’s bridal party was in the capable hands of the rest of the Stylez crew and they all looked super sharp walking down the aisle. We enjoyed morning preparations at New Hope Church where we opted to do outdoor and indoor formals as the weather was absolutely gorgeous outside. Kate had a magnificent veil which when incorporated with the slightly windy day we had made for some absolutely magical pictures. The ceremony went beautifully with the couple presenting a slideshow of their memories to start it off. We enjoyed the couples epic bubble exit from the church and were thankful for Tuscan Hills Winery to be the backdrop for our after ceremony photos. We can’t love Tuscan Hills enough, it is such a classic, beautiful place for pictures even on the sunniest of days. Even though we had to fight the harsh light we were thankful that the wind was cooperative and gave us some stunning couple and veil pictures. We headed to the shade to take some natural pictures so that the couple had some great memories from their wedding day. We headed to Bishop where the reception contained some yummy food from Martins IGA Catering, some delicious cupcakes, wonderful first dances, and really emotional and touching speeches. We loved working with the bridal party as several of their faces were familiar and it was just an overall fun reception. We really enjoyed working with Kate and Nick and we know they will have a fabulous life together.
Doug and Josh with Key-Films filmed the special day and will have a great trailer to share with you in the coming weeks. We can’t thank Josh enough for his involvement in our team, he doesn’t judge us for our wedding day organization or my (Kate’s) bossy demeanor when trying to get things done. He has helped us so much we can’t properly thank him for all the work he does for us. We love ya Josh!
