WOW can Drew and Amber throw an EPIC party. What a totally awesome wedding we had last weekend! Not only was the couple cooler than cool we absolutely adored their families and their bridal party. Amber and Drew were SO chill on their engagement session I KNEW that the wedding day would be smooth sailing. We started the morning as all bridal mornings go, at the salon. Doug and I have been a regular at Branches Salon in the last few weddings and we can count on these girls to get us in and out on time and looking fabulous (Well not Doug and I but the bridal party). Cari of course created the perfect bridal up-do while Amber’s future father in law, Ron, helped add some finishing touches to her style. Briana gave Amber a classic bridal makeup look and we headed off to my one of my favorite churches, St. Anthony, for the beautiful ceremony. Amber had SUCH a beautiful and unique dress, I instantly fell in love with it when I took it out of the bag to photograph it. We were a little weary of the weather as it was slated to rain the ENTIRE day however once again, we lucked out and the weather was 70, breezy, and perfect. We only had to contend with soft ground conditions which was fine with us! It was important to us, because of how much we appreciated the kindness of Drew and Amber’s families to get in as many outdoor, relaxed shots of the bridal party and the family as possible before the ceremony started. We hit the goal we had set for ourselves and the ceremony went off without a hitch. We loved the little moments where Amber and Drew were laughing and smiling and we enjoyed that they prioritized involving their families in the ceremony. I’m not lying when I say both families were SO fun, I seriously just want to like hang out with them on a holiday or something because they all had a really good time and there was just so much love to go around! The parents of the groom graciously allowed us the use of their beautiful landscaped yard for our outdoor photos and I thought it gave a very forest-like/romantic setting for the photos of the couple and bridal party. Because we were blessed with fluffy dark clouds, I wanted to make sure we incorporated those with Amber’s long epic veil so we did a quick road side stop so that we could capture of a few of those photos. The Carriage House did an OUTSTANDING job with their reception. The décor was perfect and the reception was packed! The couple had a unique way of welcoming their guests, by asking them to write messages and sign coasters which held personal significance to the couple (we thought this was a SUPER cool idea). I’ve never been so impressed with Niemerg’s Catering in my whole life. Between the Niemerg’s and Carriage House Staff they served a full plated meal to the entire reception including some delicious choices I have NEVER had from Niemerg’s before. The food was AMAZING and both teams pulled it off without a hitch. DJ Zach Lorton from Complete Music was in the house and he is one of my all-time favorites as he served as DJ for several of my friends weddings and always does an outstanding job. We find great value in DJ professionals that WORK WELL with other vendors (like photographers, videographers, and the reception coordinator) and Zach knows the importance of coordinating events and not just doing whatever he wants, when he wants to, making it difficult on others to do their jobs. Thanks Zach for always being easy to work with! Drew and Amber had an adorable entrance down the Carriage House stairs and some heartfelt speeches from their maid of honor and best man. It was nice to hear about how their love had survived long distances and many years together. The reception had all of the feels including the brown bag dance (my all-time favorite), the anniversary dance, and a completely full dance floor. Amber and Drew had SO Many guests to greet and we enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces ourselves in the room! We loved that this couple trusted us to do our thing and instead of just trying to keep planning the day just enjoyed the fact that the day was here and all they could do is go with the flow and that’s exactly what they did. Doug (and second videographer Adam) filmed their big day and soon we will be able to share that trailer over on the Key-Films blog. We are so excited! We had SUCH a great day with the couple and we wish them many years of happiness! Congrats Amber and Drew!
