Last wedding of 2016!
It feels REALLY good to say that as we have had the busiest year in our business to date for photography (especially weddings). We are overwhelmed by the loyalty of our clients and we had an amazing year. Now as we enter editing season we don’t really get to slow down more so just “catch up.” It will be nice to spend a few Saturdays to ourselves and with our families before our season picks back up again in January (along with bridal show season).
Andrea and Phil were the absolute perfect wedding to end our year with. They are just two completely lovely and genuine people and we couldn’t have asked for a better set of clients. We knew the majority of their bridal party and that made the day so much more enjoyable because we got to work with so many familiar and friendly faces. We started the morning with bridal hair and makeup where Andrea was gifted a memorable scrapbook full of memories with her friends and she sweetly cried as she worked through the morning jitters and enjoyed the time with her bridesmaids. Once hair and makeup was complete we headed to the Carriage House where I photographed Andrea’s AMAZING bridal gown and details. Burklands Flowers did a great job on the wedding bouquets. The first look was really important to this couple and we loved how sweet and memorable it was when Phil turned around and saw his bride walking down the stairs towards him. You know guys, his expression was also just as sweet when he saw her walking down the aisle. We really believe that with first looks you get TWO first looks because nothing beats the first time seeing your bride in a private moment but also when the music and guests are all gathered and that moment comes for the bride to walk down the actual aisle, you get all the same feels, I swear. Ask any groom who did a first look and I bet they tell you it’s just as meaningful J We headed to the beautiful St. Anthony Church where we completed formals before the wedding and used the church for some artistic photos. Because of the cold wind we opted to not do too many outdoor before the ceremony (gotta save the hair you know). The ceremony went beautifully as Kim Deters played wonderful music for the couples big moment and Fr. Michael delivered a beautiful homily. The couple exchanged rings and hugged family members right and left, it was an incredibly sweet service. We decided to brave the cold and wind and shoot some photos in both the downtown Effingham area and at a local park so that we could get in some nice low sunlight photos of the couple. We always feel that a little sacrifice is worth a good photo and we hope the bridal party and couple agree J We warmed up by driving back to the Carriage House in Altamont for the reception where as always the staff there did an exceptional job keeping the guests happy and content. Niemerg’s knocked it out of the park with another great meal and we enjoyed the couples bridal party speeches and antics throughout the night. We loved working with this couple, their families, and their friends. Congrats Andrea and Phil! Thanks for ending our season with us with a bang!
