I don’t know why but it seems like it is always an event when Doug and I travel north for an engagement session. It seems like every time we head to the Champaign area, it rains and this is no joke. It rained for our last five engagement sessions in the Champaign area and our last maternity session and family session. When we arranged to meet with Crystal and Ryne at Allerton Park in the Monticello area the forecast was completely clear of rain however the closer we got to Allerton the darker the clouds became and the rain began to fall. Out of fear of being rained out, we called Crystal and Ryne who graciously agreed to meet us at the beautiful Lake of the Woods in Mahomet which is a great alternative to Allerton. For about the first 30 minutes of the session we got a light rain but it wasn’t enough to damper our spirit or our session. I’m giving thanks now for the rain because once it cleared out we were left with the most amazing sunset sky you can imagine. Crystal and Ryne were so laid back through it all and we are so thankful we could make some last minute plan changes to avoid getting drenched. We loved hanging out with them and we essentially had the area to ourselves (since rain doesn’t scare us away!). We wanted to give a special thanks to the both of them for their sacrifice and service to our country and we respect Ryne’s courage in working to keep our country safe! We are really looking forward to their wedding day where we know Crystal will be a stunning bride! Congrats guys! Thanks for braving the storm with us!
