We spent last weekend celebrating and photographing the wedding of Haylee and Derek. Waking up in the morning it looked like it was going to be a full on rainy day but little did we know that Mother Nature would send us a break that we would really benefit from later in the day. We started the morning at Kera Kutz in Effingham where Haylee had a beautiful and classic up-do completed along with her beautiful bridal makeup. We enjoyed meeting some of the family and bridesmaids as the morning progressed. Haylee chose an absolutely classic and stunning dress for her wedding day which fit her perfectly and made her look like the perfect bride. It is no wonder that her dad had the sweet reaction that he did during her first look with him. Because the rain kept us indoors we spent time before the ceremony taking formal family photos and making sure all of the indoor photos were completed so that after the ceremony we might luck out and catch a break in the rain. Thankfully Haylee and Derek opted for a first look which allowed us that opportunity and because of the first look Haylee really got to experience TWO first looks on her wedding day. One relaxed and private moment with her husband to be, allowing them to spend almost the entire day together and then another when you could see by the look in his eyes when she came down the aisle that it was just like the first time. It was really magical and special. We lucked out with the weather, we caught a break in the rain which produced some beautiful clouds and sky and even though overcast gave us a great opportunity to take some bridal party pictures out at Tuscan Hills Winery. The overcast sky made the colors pop and the bridal party look amazing. Despite the sloshy conditions, Haylee and Derek really were troopers through the photo taking time and I think because of their great attitude about it we came out with some really great portraits. Sometimes you just have to get a little wet grass on your shoes to really just complete a wedding day 😉 We finished the day with a reception at the Effingham KC Hall where the bride had beautiful up-lighting, décor, and backdrops to complement her theme and big day. Niemergs provided a delicious meal and the couple had some great speeches to complete their wedding day memories. The dancing started and the floor was packed all night with their close friends and family enjoying their day right along with them. We loved how natural and organic their relationship was and how they really just went with the flow despite the wedding day stresses and weather. We loved working with you both, congrats on your new life together and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!
