People that already know Doug and I are pretty used to our antics but poor Kate and Nick had a big dose of our crazy from the minute we met them. The engagement session was our first chance to meet them both and the exact moment we pulled into the parking lot for the shoot the sky was absolutely beautiful showing the sun behind the clouds with amazing rays so we jumped out of the car, asked them if they were ready to go and immediately ran over to the field and took our first shot of the evening before any hello’s were exchanged. They probably thought we were crazy (they aren’t too far off). No sooner than we took that photo the sun came right back out and the beautiful rays were gone. We were really glad they were good sports about a skipped greeting and a quick first shot. Speed photography at its best, sometimes the sun doesn’t always do what you want but when it does, go for it.
We really enjoyed spending the evening with them and boy did we have some bizzare weather. The evening started out hot and sunny as we took photos around Sam Par State Park in the Newton area and then the storm clouds started to roll in. even though there was no call for rain. Even though it was still sunny and beautiful out we had a really sudden pop up shower which we didn’t expect and it lasted about five minutes and then dissipated into some beautiful dark clouds. We ended the evening at a private spot where Nick proposed where we got the best sunset you could ask for. We are so glad they picked us for their wedding I know they are going to be awesome to work with. Congrats you guys, sorry you got a crazy first meeting with us!
