Megan and Joey had the most epic perfect wedding day! We were so blessed to be able to document this special day for them! We started the morning at Branches Salon where we have been for the last several weddings and we know we can always count on them to do an amazing job and to have us out of there on time. The girls all gathered and had a great morning with the cuddly little babies that were part of the bridal party while they got hair and makeup done by the awesome staff at Branches. We headed over to St. Anthony Church to photograph details and to photograph the men of the bridal party in their very chic navy suits. It was nice knowing the majority of the wedding party because I have known Joey and Megan’s family for a while now and we always feel welcome in groups of old friends. We had a spectacular morning at the church getting in all of the formals that we could inside and out before Joey finally saw his bride coming down the aisle. Holy crap did Megan look AMAZING. That dress was so unique and perfect for her. The ceremony went smoothly and as you can see there were some adorable little attendants that did a perfect job walking up the aisle. We love that this couple chose a forest/woodland theme because we did everything we could to tie their detail photos and portrait photos into that theme. We really strongly believe in a “theme” or “look” for a wedding because it helps drive the photographers choices of locations, poses, and detail shots. When your theme is just “get married” that’s also ok too J We completed family photos at the church and headed to our photo spot where the sun was in the most perfect position. One of the reasons we love late fall weddings is because through careful planning and an acknowledgement that the sun sets earlier after the time change we can get some glorious light to work with. Such was the case with Megan and Joey. We shot photos until the sun went down and still had time to stop off at the Orchard for a drink. We headed to the reception where the couple had koozies designed by the amazing and talented Tanya Pedersen of Design Pro and who also designed the couples’ character sign in matte. I’ve never seen anything so unique and cool in my life, now all I have to do is talk her into doing one for the Key’s and I’ll be set J Sam from Complete Music kept the party moving and hopping all night and introduced a hilarious dance battle contest to get the party started. I swear this wedding had me laughing so hard between this and the speeches. Hands down, this wedding, best speeches I’ve ever heard. Not even kidding. Natasha, the Maid of Honor and the bride’s sister had a full complete “Ice Ice Baby” rap prepared and there wasn’t anyone in the room that wasn’t busting up laughing. She was followed up by the couples Best Man who told stories from their youth that you just wouldn’t believe. Seriously, it was hard to take photos because I was laughing so hard. We enjoyed the beauty of the Carriage House once again for this perfect reception and the staff did an incredible job keeping guests happy and hydrated. Niemerg’s served another killer meal (that Chicken… yumtastic) and the wedding cake was delicious! We had such a great day with this couple, we wish them the best for years to come.
