Holy St. Patricks Day Weekend Batman! Many years ago we shot our first “back to back” wedding weekend where we shot a wedding on Friday and a wedding on Saturday and we swore we’d never do it again but we landed ourselves back into crazy land this past weekend shooting the St. Patricks Day wedding of Jessica and Greg followed by the wedding we’ll share with you next on Saturday. I bow to the colleagues of mine that pull back to back weddings on a regular basis, its tough to do! Jessica and Greg were just two people that you meet and instantly know you HAVE to be there for their epic party. That’s how we felt when we met them. We just knew that even though this was a Friday and we’d have to take off work (we aren’t really sad about that, trust us) it would be 100 percent worth it and it definitely was. We started the morning off at Dimensions salon where the team there created beautiful hairstyles and flawless makeup for Jessica and her bridesmaids. During the morning, Jessica’s sweet dad presented both she and her mother with beautiful heartfelt gifts and it was at that moment I knew that her dad would probably have everyone crying before the end of the day (I wasn’t wrong either). We headed to the church in Shelbyville where Jessica was made a stunning bride as we took photos both inside and outside the church. The weather had been rainy and unpleasant most of the day but the clouds moved away and the sun revealed itself to us by the time the ceremony was over. The ceremony was beautiful. We headed to the Lake Shelbyville area for some outdoor photos before we made the journey over to the Carriage House in Altamont. Janet and her team created a new and unique backdrop for the couple which I absolutely loved and we loved how the couple incorporated the St. Patricks Theme into their wedding day all the way from green beer to shamrock cufflinks and socks. Niemergs Catering provided a delicious meal and the catfish was an awesome delight to have (and very tasty). The couple rocked the night away with their family and friends and we laughed (and teared up a bit) with some of the speeches from the evening (specifically Jessica’s dad). We felt like family all day, this was a fabulous couple to work with. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Thanks to Jessica and Greg for treating us like friends and letting us celebrate with them. Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon!
