Andrea and Kevin | Wedding @ Friendship Park, Mattoon IL

Holy Spring! Its finally here! We have Kevin and Andrea’s wedding to prove it! What a fantastic spot they chose to get married! Friendship Park is so intimate and beautiful and so well cared for by the Douglas Hart Nature Center. We just loved working with this couple the entire day was relaxed and awesome. When we met Kevin and Andrea a few months ago we knew we would get along great because they were really fun personalities and we felt we could just have a conversation with them ALL day long. Andrea and her beautiful daughter started their day with some hairstyles at Hairbenders in Mattoon and then we were off to their family home to prep for the wedding. Andrea chose a very classic dress with gorgeous lace and we loved the intimacy of meeting their family in their home as well as their furry family members. Since we are dog people, we have to give a shout out to their beagle and their two huskies who definitely made us feel welcome! The ceremony was intimate and perfect (with the exception of some party crashers from the Mattoon prom) and meeting both families and their children was a delight. It was nice being able to have a lot of available time to work with Andrea and Kevin on some creative picture ideas without the added time constraints of a large bridal party (this trend, we LOVE). The reception was full of laughter, dancing, and lots of good people having a great time. We were so glad they chose us to document their special day. Congrats Andrea and Kevin (and to your beautiful children)! We wish you a lifetime of happiness and love!

If you are an observer or a person that just happens to pass by a in progress wedding: please do not attempt to disrupt the wedding! Have some common decency! Poor Andrea and Kevin had to delay the start of their wedding due some park crashers that clearly did not observe that an in progress wedding was going on at a reserved space (in a private park, no less). Don’t be that guy 🙂
