We wrapped up our summer weddings with the wedding of Brittney and Christian – a beautiful couple with a wonderful loving family in one of our favorite mid-west venues: the Carriage House. It was a hot one but we were able to prevail with some great photos and some beautiful light for this couples big day! We started the morning at The Blend Salon in downtown Effingham where Becky and the staff at the Blend created beautiful wedding looks for the bridal party and Brittney’s beautiful daughter who spent her morning charming everyone in the salon. We spent the morning relaxed and excited as the bridal party worked their way over to the Carriage House to get ready for the big ceremony. Brittney chose a beautiful gown (with POCKETS, my favorite) and it made her look like a stunning barbie doll. She couldn’t have looked more beautiful descending the stairs for starting family photos prior to the ceremony, its no wonder that her groom could barely keep it together as she came down the aisle later in the ceremony. We were able to spend some time on formal photos prior to the wedding ceremony and Christian saw his beautiful bride for the first time as she came down the stairs and then down he aisle to him. The couple wrote their own vows and they were beautiful and sentimental and we saw a lot of tears being held back in the guests eyes. The ceremony went off without a hitch and after some formal photo wrap up and a bubble exit we headed to the local nature center to grab some outdoor bridal party photos prior to the start of the reception. It was a hot one to be sure but that’s pretty much expected in late June and even though we had a big bridal party we were able to get through some great photos in a short period of time so that the bridal party could enjoy some time in the AC before heading to the reception. The Carriage House did yet again another beautiful job decorating and executing on the wedding ceremony and reception and the couple treated their guests to an amazing meal by Niemergs and some awesome desserts from the dessert table. The dance floor was hopping after the emotional first dances by the couple and their parent sets (even a special tribute to the brides parents wedding anniversary) and the party continued on into the night. We loved seeing the couple have a blast on the dance floor with their friends and family and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up the summer wedding season. We’ll be back in September to wrap up our year and we’re looking forward to a couple months off! Congrats Brittney and Christian, it was a wonderful day!
