This week of all the things we are so incredibly Thankful for we are specifically thankful for our amazing jobs as photographers. In addition, we are also thankful that this wedding season has come to a close and that we are able to spend more time together as a family. We had an AWESOME season with so many great couples we really are so very fortunate we get to do this for a living. From the moment we met Jaclyn and Anthony we knew this wedding was going to be wonderful. Jaclyn completely trusted my vision and ideas for photos and we had a blast taking them. We had semi-decent weather considering it was November and the bridal party was so easy and cooperative to work with. The morning started at KeraCutz Salon in Effingham where the hair masters created the bridal party look. I actually love this salon because it is so colorful and bright it really sets the mood for the day (and the great light doesn’t hurt either). We headed to Sacred Heart Church in Effingham where Fr. Chris Brey preformed a beautiful and memorable ceremony. We actually love the uniqueness of Sacred Heart Church especially the celling of the building. Jaclyn and Anthony opted for a memorable first look which we are really starting to love because not only does it give you more time together on your wedding day (who wants to spend almost the entire day apart, eh?) it also gave us the opportunity for outdoor photos at Tuscan Hills Winery. We can’t say enough positive things about the bridal party. Usually grouping together 15 people who want to party is an uphill battle and some parties are more cooperative than others but this group really made our job easy and enjoyable. They were willing to do the things we asked and that kind of cooperation really makes for some great photos. The reception was held at the Effingham KC Hall where Jaclyn and Anthony had a trail mix bar, a cookie buffet, and an AMAZING cookie wedding cake (Yes, I said cookie). It was SO unique I have NEVER seen one quite like that at a wedding before. They also had an amazing live band, Shenanigans from Springfield and they were interactive and fun the entire night. We LOVE the idea of a live band and these guys were just amazing, if you are looking for great and entertaining music for your reception consider a band! Anthony and Jaclyn also entertained my ideas of taking a night rain shot, it took a few attempts and we all came in a little wet but I think the end result was totally worth it. Adam and Doug with Key-Films no doubt have some great footage from the day and they will be sharing that soon on their blog in the coming weeks (stay tuned!). Kayla, from Kayla Elizabeth Photography also assisted us (she was the main assistant in “the rain shot”) and as usual did an amazing job and made our job that much easier. We are so thankful for her! We are really looking forward to some holiday time with our family and a little bit of travel before we head into the next 2015 wedding season. Thanks to our great clients for another amazing year!
