Holy cow where do I begin! This wedding was downright amazing and I had looked forward to this for a VERY long time. Before I forget, I will start off saying that Katie is an amazing girl and I’m very happy to know her! Katie was literally a wedding photographers dream. She was the perfect example of how careful planning, organization, and creativity can produce amazing results. Not only that, both Katie and Ramie are GORGEOUS and are naturals in front of the camera. I didn’t even have to pose them (swear) they are this amazing naturally! I LOVED that Katie went to so much detail with her wedding, even down to the wedding dress hangers. All of this organization made for some AMAZING detail shots and I think it made her wedding that much more unique and personal. Doug and I traveled down on Monday night for their Tuesday wedding. We had some great light after the ceremony ended (the sun was pretty toasty during the wedding) and we even had the opportunity to take some next day “trash the dress shots” before Doug and I took off for home. We wish we could have stayed longer to take more “after” photos but we had to return earlier than we had planned so that I could return to work. Most people aren’t aware that I do have a day job (that I love) besides photography so we had to return home quickly. Not only did Katie have amazing details, she did her own hair and makeup (which is something I don’t normally see with weddings) and she looked BEAUTIFUL. Their reception was full of close family and friends and you could see that there was much love for the happy couple. Katie’s grandparents were celebrating their wedding anniversary as well the day of the wedding and Katie included a cake for them as well as a special dance. Katie’s bouquet was set apart with a handkerchief that was a gift from her father. It was so hard choosing blog photos for this amazing couple because there were so many awesome shots as well as a spectacular ocean view for just about every one. Not only did we have the honor of shooting photos for Katie and Ramie, Doug also filmed their details, ceremony, and reception and that wedding trailer will soon appear on his blog, Key-Films very soon! Doug did an amazing job, I can already share 🙂 The “trash the dress” session that we did the day after the wedding ( I swear, we didn’t actually trash her dress its fine, LOL) gave us more chances to create more beautiful photos. I was glad that both were natural in front of the camera and that they were willing to get a little wet! You don’t come across the kind of couple very often that can just “be themselves” in front of the camera and it makes for some stunning results. Thank you both for sharing your day with us, we were both honored to call you clients and friends. Congrats and have a spectacular life together!
