Katie and Ryan | Wedding @ Ballard Nature Center, Altamont, IL

We are full steam ahead with wedding season and we are back to back to back weddings which we LOVE because we get to meet super cool people like Ryan and Katie. This couple is proof that true love can stand the test of time and challenges that stand in between. Ryan is a Marine (and super awesome in addition to that) and has been stationed far away from Katie as she planned their wedding day. From what we learned about Katie and Ryan through family and friends is that they sailed through those storms and challenges of separation with elegance and grace to finally make it to their BEAUTIFUL wedding day. We started the morning off at Maranathas in Vandalia where the girls at the salon created the bridal party’s classic looks for the day. It was really enjoyable getting to meet everyone and hear stories as Katie opened a memory book filled with notes and letters form her family and bridesmaids and groom. There were lots of tears and lots of laughs throughout the entire day! One specific thing I want to mention about this couple was their absolutely incredible family (which I imagine is a killer support system). Katie and Ryan are blessed with multiple sets of parents and grandparents who all welcomed us with open arms and made us feel so welcome. I was so super impressed by their support system of amazing people,  I constantly mentioned to Katie how great it was. Katie and Ryan had a beautiful rain free wedding ceremony at Ballard Nature Center where there were lots of tears of joy and some pretty great laughs (yeah, the ring pop was pretty hilarious). Top that off with some emotional and perfect first look moments and you have a really great day. The group did an amazing job on the reception details and decor and we had a great time at the reception. The weather was even perfect for some later evening shots, it was all in all just a great day. We HIGHLY respect this couple for their service to our country and we were honored to document their special day. Congrats Katie and Ryan, we hope you have an amazing life together!
