Kayla and Brad | Wedding @ St. Francis Church, Teutopolis IL

Our first wedding of 2015 was such a great way to transition into our 2015 wedding season because the couple was awesome and the weather was fabulous! When couples tell us they are going to get married in the months of January or February we are always just a little nervous about what the weather might bring (re: blizzards) but for our one and only wedding of February we were pleasantly surprised when the average temperature for the day was in the mid 50’s. We started the day at Mainly You Salon in Teutopolis where Tracy created Kayla’s bridal updo. We love being at this salon working with the hair and makeup artists because the atmosphere is so relaxed and fun. We had a very relaxed morning of preparations and bridal portraits and it was a beautiful moment when Kayla walked down the aisle and Brad saw her for the first time, it was absolute magic. We loved working with both sets of families and we had ample opportunity for some outdoor portraits before it got dark. Kayla and Brad had a fun and interactive wedding reception held following the wedding at the Teutopolis KC Hall. Their bridal party and guests filled the dance floor and it was a beautiful day from start to finish. What I personally loved about Kayla was how laid back she was about everything even after getting some wine spilled on her dress. She just laughed it off and continued to enjoy herself (no worries, club soda fixed it). What Kayla and Brad probably didn’t know is that 11 years ago on their wedding day, Doug and I had our first date. It was great spending the day with a couple so in love that nothing could disrupt their day.  I also love how natural they were. If anyone knows my shooting style they know I don’t prefer to stage something if I don’t have to and for the majority of the day I was able to capture Kayla and Brad naturally enjoying their day. Personally we feel that at receptions that we like to include decor in the background of our photos as much as possible (rather than plain walls) because we know how much work goes into creating a beautiful reception and we were able to get some beautiful photos against Kayla’s backdrop at the reception. This was the type of couple you just instantly get along with and enjoy being around we can tell why so many of their family and friends were so very happy for them on this day. We wish you both nothing but happiness in your married life. Congrats!
