Morgan and Jon | Wedding @ Altamont, IL

Playing some catchup on the blog this week with the wonderful Morgan and Jon. You have to be a happy, genuine couple to get married in the winter and tough out the cold and potential bad weather and Morgan and Jon did just that. While their day was precipitation free, it was absolutely freezing outside but we had a wonderful day nonetheless! We started the morning with the girls preparations at the salon in downtown Altamont where we heard pre-wedding stories and got to know the group. Morgan was really relaxed all morning as she received her flawless makeup and her beautiful updo. What we remember so well from Morgan and Jon’s engagement session was their cute little puppy (who is now a BIG puppy) that was just so energetic during the shoot we had to make every sound in the book to get his attention. We loved this couple ever since because of their genuine happiness together and their awesome laid back personalities. We headed to the church to do a series of memorable first looks with the bridesmaids and the father of the bride and after Morgan had put on her beautiful bridal dress and accessories (complete with an epic long veil) we started the formal photo process. I do love this small church in rural Altamont, it has beautiful windows and is really intimate and when the doors opened and Morgan walked down that aisle, you bet that Jon was welling up tears in his eyes because of how beautiful she looked. The wedding ceremony was packed full of loved ones on both sides and Morgan and Jon exchanged rings and vows while their bridal party looked on. We wrapped up the ceremony as well as formal photos to hop on the party bus and drive over to our first photo location. Because it was SO cold and we were doing both photography and film we had to take small breaks here and there to let the couple warm up. We were able to do photos in shifts which was nice and thankfully we got a nice veil wind to give us some beautiful photos. Morgan and Jon were troopers as we filmed and photographed their happy day and with a few short breaks and a couple of photo stops we finally headed to their reception. They went ALL out decorating and preparing for this reception- a beautiful hall complete with an amazing backdrop (Kudos to Carriage House) and an amazing snack table prepared by relatives and friends of the couple, it was an elegant affair. The couple arrived and walked down the grand stair case to greet their guests as a newly married couple. The amazing and talented Fully N Volved DJ service (Jaz and Kayla Sain) helped our evening run smoothly and kept the party hopping all night long. The couple even chose to have late night biscuits and gravy for their reception. We loved the speeches given by their bridal party and friends and the overall day was fantastic. We are so happy for this amazing couple and we wish them many years in their married bliss.
