Samantha and Derek | Engagement @ Effingham, IL

Caution: Adorable couple and adorable puppy alert! We LOVED working with Samantha and Derek because they did EVERYTHING a photographer dreams of for every shoot. They were completely prepared with props they wanted to use, an adorable job, and a fantastic location. As busy as we are, unique locations are always something we strive to find so that every shoot has a different look and feel to them but sometimes its difficult to obtain locations with this kind of character. This is why I usually suggest to my couples to really brainstorm about property in the family or owned by friends that might be useable and even though you might be used to it or possibly over look it because you see it every day, we find beauty in those spots and can make those locations work for us. That was exactly the case with their shoot. They had a great location picked out that I’m guessing they had NO idea the light was perfect at for that time of day. Samantha had really cute props that we were able to use to create our own look and adapt into the photos (not to mention, their AWESOME dog). We also had a few photobombs along the way from friendly horse to a local cat that gave us something to laugh about. It was awesome spending the evening with Sam and Derek and we really look forward to their wedding next year!
