We love hometown weddings! As much as we love to travel to shoot weddings we also equally enjoy shooting hometown, local weddings. The best thing about it is you are most likely to know a lot of people and you share so many things in common with the couple and the families. We like going to local salons and reception venues and seeing familiar faces and friends! We started the morning with Brittany’s hair appointments at Mainly You Salon in Teutopolis followed by makeup with Kaitlyn Hartke (who does an awesome job). Brittany had chosen a BEAUTIFUL cathedral length scalloped veil for her very vintage and classic dress and I was immediately in love with her wedding attire. Once to the church we were able to snap some footage and stills of her dress and details and start taking formal shots. Brittany and Derek exchanged letters privately before the ceremony but didn’t see each other and we thought this was a really special touch on the day. The ceremony went beautifully and we really enjoyed meeting and interacting with both sets of families. The wedding party was very easy and fun to work with and we were able to use the church grounds to get some bridal portraits following the wedding ceremony. Although slightly chilly outside they had a lot of nice clouds and sunshine for their big day. They spent a few moments remembering family members that have passed at the local ceremony (which we think is a very special tradition) and then it was off to the reception at the Teutopolis KC Hall. Brittany had great vintage decor as well as a themed sweets table and stunning table details. We loved the attention to detail! The party was hopping thanks to Miller’s DJ Service and the dance floor was full all night! We loved this couple because they were so laid back and completely trusted us! Key-Films, along with Adam our awesome 2nd videographer, rocked some wedding video for them so you can be sure a wedding trailer will soon follow! Congrats to you both Brittany and Derek! We wish happiness in your marriage!
